Business Development Manager

Job brief

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to help us build functional systems that improve our sales.

As a BDM specializing in Carbide Cutting Tools, your primary responsibility will be to generate sales and drive revenue growth by promoting and selling carbide cutting tools to potential customers. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new clients. Your expertise in Carbide Cutting Tools will be instrumental in providing technical knowledge, support, and guidance to customers, ensuring their needs are met and maximizing sales opportunities. The role requires a combination of sales skills, product knowledge, and excellent customer service to meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the company’s success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Generation:

  • Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities in the market for Carbide Cutting Tools.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, trends, and competition.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, consistently engaging with prospects and progressing sales opportunities.
  • Present product features, benefits, and technical specifications to customers, effectively demonstrating value propositions.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.

2. Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, serving as their primary point of contact.
  • Understand customers’ requirements, challenges, and goals, providing customized solutions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, production, customer support) to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and deliver exceptional service.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to identify growth opportunities and maximize account potential.

3. Technical Expertise:

  • Develop a deep understanding of carbide cutting tools, their applications, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new product developments, and competitor offerings.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, assisting with tool selection, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops for customers and internal staff.

4. Sales Reporting and Analysis:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, including customer information, sales activities, and forecasts.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, highlighting achievements, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement and formulate effective sales strategies.


  • Proven track record in sales, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Carbide Cutting Tools and their applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
